FREE MEDICAL CAMP HELD AT INFANT JESUS CHURCH PAVOOR ULIYA

A joint initiative by the Commission for Women, Mangalore Diocese Rev. Fr Fredrick Braggs, Parish Priest of Infant Jesus Church Pavoor Uliya, and Father Muller Medical College Hospital Mangalore, successfully organized a free medical camp on October 12 for the residents of Pavoor Uliya, migrants and students. The event commenced with an introduction by Anitha Frank, Secretary of the Commission for Women. (Diocese of Mangalore) Usha Fernandes, Executive Committee Member, extended a warm welcome to the gathering.
Deepika, Health Camp Coordinator from Father Muller Medical College Hospital, along with a dedicated team of doctors from various specialties, rendered their valuable services. Dr Elroy Saldanha, Consultant Surgical Oncologist, conducted an informative session through a PowerPoint presentation, raising awareness on cancer symptoms and treatment options.
The camp offered a wide range of free services, including eye check-ups, ECG, OBG and orthopaedic consultations, Pap smear, breast examination, blood tests, general medicine and free distribution of medications. A total of 170 individuals benefited from the camp.
This health camp drive was supported by the Capuchin Novitiates of Monte Mariyano Church, Farangipete, executive committee members of Women commission and students of Saint Aloysius College, whose voluntary assistance contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the event.
This community-driven initiative reflected healthcare awareness among the people of Pavoor Uliya.
