Father Muller Launches Christmas & New Year Festive Health Check-up Scheme in Mangaluru

Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) formally inaugurated the Christmas & New Year Edition of the Father Muller Health Check-up Scheme on December 15, 2025, marking the start of a month-long festive healthcare initiative that will run until January 15, 2026.

The scheme was inaugurated by the Director of FMCI, Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo. The launch witnessed an encouraging response, with over 25 registrations for the Executive Health Check-up recorded on the very first day, underscoring the growing public trust in Father Muller’s preventive healthcare services.

The inaugural ceremony featured the unveiling of the festive offer poster, followed by the cutting of a celebratory cake by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo along with dignitaries and Laveen Dsouza, the first beneficiary of the scheme on the day. The celebration reflected the spirit of Christmas and the New Year, highlighting shared joy, goodwill, and a collective commitment to health and well-being.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo emphasized the need to maintain harmony between the mind, body and soul for true wellness. He noted that while Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) contributes to physical and mental health through its dedicated medical services, spiritual well-being is nurtured by recognizing the human element, especially during the festive season that celebrates peace, joy and humanity. He encouraged the public to make optimal use of the hospital’s comprehensive facilities and described the festive health check-up scheme as a meaningful gift, particularly for those with limited financial means. He also urged everyone to act as ambassadors of the scheme and wished all a healthy year ahead.

The Christmas & New Year Health Check-up Scheme offers a 15% festive concession on various packages, including General Health, Executive Health, Senior Citizen, Women’s Health, Comprehensive Complete Heart Health and Adolescent Health Check-ups. In addition, an Audiometry test valued at ₹1,500 is being offered with a 100 per cent concession, enhancing accessibility for the public.

An annual initiative keenly awaited by the community, the scheme sees many beneficiaries pre-booking their slots, especially as it coincides with the holiday season. It is also particularly beneficial for NRIs visiting their hometowns, enabling them to undergo comprehensive health evaluations during their stay.

Those present at the programme included Rev. Fr William Dsouza, Assistant Administrator, FMMCH; Dr Uday Kumar, Medical Superintendent, FMMCH; Dr Ram Shenoy Basti, Professor and Head, Department of Radiology; Dr Smitha Bhat, Professor and Head, Department of General Medicine; Malini Menezes, OPD Nursing Superintendent and Bindu Ashok, In-charge Medical Social Worker, Health Check-up Schemes. The programme was compered by Dr Kelvin Peter Pais, Liaison Officer.

Adding to the festive cheer, plum cakes were distributed to all present, symbolically marking the Christmas season and welcoming a sweeter New Year.
