Padua College Welcomes Freshers with ‘Utkarsha–2026’
Inspiring Induction Programme Focuses on Values, Leadership and Life Skills
Padua College of Commerce and Management organised its “Utkarsha–2026” Induction Programme for newly admitted first-year students on July 24, marking the beginning of their academic journey with an inspiring blend of motivation, values, and career guidance.
The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr Arun Wilson Lobo, Principal of Padua College of Commerce and Management and Campus Director of the Padua Group of Educational Institutions.
The chief guest, Abhilash Kshatriya, an ICF CCE Certified Trainer and Coach, Director of Akshaya Group of Institutions, and Founder of Abhijna Education, delivered an inspiring keynote address. Encouraging students to dream big and work with dedication, he highlighted the importance of developing not only academic excellence but also essential soft skills, communication abilities, leadership qualities, and practical competencies to thrive in today’s highly competitive world. He urged Generation Z students to become responsible, ethical, and socially committed citizens.
In his presidential address, Rev. Fr Arun Wilson Lobo emphasised that discipline, punctuality, and effective time management are the cornerstones of personal and professional success. Reaffirming the institution’s commitment to providing a drug-free campus, he encouraged students to uphold moral values, respect their teachers, and cultivate integrity, compassion, and a strong character throughout their college life. He concluded by extending his heartfelt best wishes to the freshers for a successful and fulfilling academic journey.
The college’s Vice Principal and Programme Coordinator, Roshan Vincy Santhumayor, introduced the students to the various value-added certificate courses offered by the institution, highlighting opportunities for skill development and career enhancement beyond the regular curriculum.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Zeena Cornelio, Programme Coordinator. The event was gracefully compered by Jeslin Dsouza, Head of the BCA Department, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Lester Coutinho. Prof. Santosh, Programme Coordinator, was also present on the occasion.
The induction programme concluded on an inspiring note, motivating the newly admitted students to embrace learning with confidence, discipline, and determination, while preparing themselves to become competent professionals and responsible citizens.
