Father Muller Independence Tournament 2026 – PU Level Intercollegiate Kabaddi & Throwball Tournament
Father Muller Charitable Institutions successfully organized the Independence Tournament 2026, PU-level intercollegiate sports tournament featuring Men’s Kabaddi and Women’s Throwball, on 13 August 2026 at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium, Mangaluru. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from PU colleges across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. More than 16 Men’s Kabaddi teams and 8 Women’s Throwball teams participated in the tournament. All the matches were conducted at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium, which provided an excellent air-conditioned indoor sporting facility for the participants. The programme was effectively compered by Chandrashekhara S.N., Physical Education Director, Father Muller Medical College, who coordinated the programme proceedings and ensured the smooth conduct of the inauguration, tournament activities, prize distribution and closing ceremony.
Inauguration Ceremony:
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium. The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions. The Chief Guest and Organizing Secretary was Rev. Dr Michael Santhumayor, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College.
The dignitaries welcomed the participating teams and appreciated the efforts taken by Father Muller Charitable Institutions to provide a platform for young students to develop their sporting talents, discipline, teamwork and competitive spirit.
Women’s Throwball Results: After a series of exciting and competitive matches, the following teams secured the top positions:

Men’s Kabaddi Results: The Men’s Kabaddi tournament also witnessed highly competitive matches, with teams displaying excellent skill, strength, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Prize Distribution Ceremony:
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium following the completion of the tournament.
The prizes, trophies and individual awards were presented by the Organizing Chairman, Rev. Dr Michael Santhumayor Administrator, Father Muller Medical College. The winners, runners-up and individual award recipients were congratulated for their outstanding performances.
Closing Ceremony:
The closing ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the Independence Tournament 2026. The organizers appreciated the participation and cooperation of all the colleges, players, coaches, officials, referees, volunteers and staff members who contributed to the smooth conduct of the tournament. The tournament provided a valuable opportunity for PU-level students from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to showcase their sporting abilities and develop team spirit, discipline, leadership, confidence and sportsmanship.
