Four Jesuits Ordained as Priests at Fatima Retreat House Mangaluru

A day of great joy and solemn celebration marked the ordination of four Jesuit deacons into Priesthood at the Divine Mercy Church, Fatima Retreat House, Mangaluru. His Lordship Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, conferred Priestly ordination upon Frs Nishanth Noronha, Preethesh Misquith, Pruthvi Rodrigues, and Sharun Dsouza.

In his homily, Bishop Saldanha urged the new Priests to embrace their mission as “prophets of hope in times of darkness.” He reminded them, “Prophets need to know Christ and bring His message of hope to the people entrusted to their care.”

Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Provincial of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, expressed gratitude to the Bishop, the clergy, religious and the faithful who gathered to witness the occasion, along with friends and relatives of the ordinands.

The celebration concluded with a felicitation for the newly ordained Priests and their parents. Speaking on behalf of his companions, Rev. Fr Sharun Dsouza extended heartfelt thanks to all who had accompanied them on their journey towards Priesthood.

The liturgy of the ordination was prayerfully prepared by Rev. Fr Leston Lobo and Sch. Rudolf Dsouza, while Rev. Fr Vishwas Misquith served as Master of Ceremonies.
