CRI Moodbidri Zone Celebrates Joyful Christmas 2025 with Elderly and Sick at Alangar Care Centre

A joyful and vibrant Christmas Celebration – 2025 was organized by the CRI Moodbidri Zone at the Palliative and Geriatric Care Centre, Alangar, Moodbidri, run by the Helpers of Mount Rosary Sisters, on December 21. The celebration, shared with the elderly and the sick, radiated happiness, unity and festive cheer.

The atmosphere was enriched by a beautiful spirit of togetherness as sisters, Priests, and brothers adorned red Santa caps and shawls, while candidates and novices were gracefully dressed in red. The colourful attire and thoughtfully decorated surroundings created a meaningful and joyful Christmas ambience. The programme commenced promptly at 3:30 p.m. with a prayer song led by the Sisters of Charity and the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, invoking God’s abundant blessings upon the gathering. Sr Felcita H.M.R. extended a warm welcome to all present.

The distinguished guests for the occasion were Rev. Fr Deepak Noronha, O.Praem. and Rev. Sr Suneetha Dsouza H.M.R., Superior General. A meaningful and aesthetically presented tableau by the H.M.R. candidates beautifully conveyed the true message of Christmas. This was followed by an inspiring Christmas message by Rev. Fr Deepak Noronha, O.Praem., encouraging everyone to live the values of love, sharing, and service.

The celebration continued with a cake-cutting ceremony symbolizing joy and fraternity, followed by a motivating message from Rev. Sr Suneetha Dsouza H.M.R. The festive spirit was further heightened through joyful carol singing by sisters, brothers, candidates and novices of the Moodbidri Zone, creating a vibrant and prayerful atmosphere.

Engaging games conducted by Sr Maria Rosy A.C. brought laughter and enthusiastic participation. Gifts were distributed to the inmates and prizes to the game winners by Rev. Fr. Deepak Noronha, O.Praem. Sr Maria Rosy A.C. proposed the vote of thanks, while the entire programme was gracefully anchored by Sr Preethi H.M.R.

The celebration concluded with tea and refreshments served to all, generously sponsored by Rev. Sr Suneetha Dsouza H.M.R. The community expressed heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated efforts of all the office bearers under the able leadership of Rev. Fr Deepak Noronha, O.Praem. and Sr Rosy Dsouza H.M.R. The programme ended on a joyful note, leaving everyone with happy hearts, renewed spirits, and radiant smiles, cherishing the true spirit of Christmas 2025.
