Cloistered Carmelite Sister Marie Celine of Kankanady Passes Away at 90
Sister Marie Celine of the Holy Face (born Cynthia Pinto), a revered member of the Cloistered Carmel Monastery in Kankanady, passed away on today Friday, July 3. She was 90 years old. Born on January 12, 1936, Sister Marie Celine entered the Carmelite order as a young woman, making her First Profession on November 21, 1961. She spent more than six decades dedicated to a life of quiet contemplation, deep prayer, and religious devotion.

Throughout her long and faithful service, she took on key leadership roles within the community, serving both as Prioress and Novice Mistress. In these positions, she played a vital role in guiding and shaping the spiritual formation of younger sisters entering the monastery.
Funeral and Homage Details:
* Public Viewing: Her mortal remains will be placed in the monastery chapel on Saturday, July 4, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for public homage.
* Funeral Mass: The funeral Mass is scheduled for 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 4, at the Cloistered Carmel Monastery, Kankanady, followed by the final rites and burial.
