Saint Agnes PU College Holds Inspiring PTA Annual General Meeting
Saint Agnes Pre-University College conducted its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Annual General Meeting on Friday, July 31, at the college auditorium, bringing together parents, faculty members and students for an engaging and meaningful programme. The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Avitha Dsouza, Dean for Humanities and Lecturer in History and Psychology, who also introduced the chief guest, Dr Caroline Dsouza, Consultant Neuropsychiatrist.
PTA Secretary Joel Fernandes presented the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting, while PTA President Sr Norine Dsouza AC highlighted the institution’s achievements and activities during the 2025–2026 academic year in her annual report. Treasurer Shobha presented the statement of accounts for the same period.
A special highlight of the programme was the felicitation of the II PU Board Examination toppers of 2025–2026. Riah Anna Mendona (Science), Viola Risha Fernandes (Commerce) and Pratiksha N. Rao (Arts) were honoured for their outstanding academic achievements. Their subject teachers were also felicitated in recognition of their dedication and commitment to nurturing academic excellence.
Delivering the keynote address on “Parenting Adolescents in the Digital Age,” Dr Caroline Dsouza emphasised the vital role of parents in safeguarding the mental and emotional well-being of teenagers. She highlighted the importance of open communication, guidance and emotional support in raising responsible and resilient young adults in today’s technology-driven world.
The vote of thanks was proposed by PTA Joint Secretary Lavina Sequeira, while the programme was efficiently compered by Supriya, Dean for Science and Lecturer in Physics. The event concluded with the National Anthem. The programme was presided over by Chairperson Rev. Dr Vinora AC and was attended by Vice Principal Sr Janet Sequeira, PTA Vice President Shabnam, faculty members, PTA representatives and a large gathering of parents.
