CODP Extends Education Aid to Students, Spreads Awareness on Government Welfare Schemes

The Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP) organised an Education Aid Cheque Distribution Programme along with an awareness session on various Karnataka Government welfare schemes on Saturday, August 8, at Mother Theresa Hall, CODP, Mangaluru. The programme, organised under the Commission for Labour and Commission for Social Development, commenced at 10.30 a.m. and witnessed the participation of student beneficiaries and their parents.

Rev. Fr Vincent Dsouza, Director of CODP, presided over the programme and addressed the gathering. In his address, he provided detailed information on various welfare schemes introduced by the Karnataka Government, explaining how students and families from economically weaker sections can benefit from scholarships, financial assistance and other social welfare programmes. He encouraged students and parents to remain informed about the schemes available to them and make proper use of government assistance to pursue higher education and build sustainable livelihoods.

Following the awareness session, Rev. Fr Vincent Dsouza distributed educational aid cheques to deserving and financially needy students from the Diocese of Mangalore. The assistance is intended to help reduce the financial burden of tuition fees and other educational expenses faced by students pursuing school and higher education.

The beneficiaries and their parents expressed their gratitude to CODP and the Diocese of Mangalore for their continued support towards education, student welfare and social empowerment. CODP staff members and representatives were present and assisted in the smooth conduct of the programme.

The initiative highlighted CODP’s continued commitment to supporting education among economically disadvantaged students while creating greater awareness about government welfare opportunities available to families in need.
