CODP Organises October Camp in Mangaluru to Promote Children’s Holistic Development

The Child Sponsorship Programme (CSP) of the Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP), Mangaluru, organised its October Camp for beneficiaries on October 12 at Mother Theresa Hall, CODP, Mangaluru.

The camp aimed to bring children together for a day of learning, recreation and fellowship while promoting social values, cooperation and friendship.

Rev. Fr Vincent Dsouza, Secretary of CODP, addressed the gathering and spoke on social teachings under the Labour Commission. He highlighted the importance of compassion, solidarity, human dignity and concern for the poor and marginalised. He encouraged the children to imbibe these values in their daily lives and grow into responsible individuals who care for others.

The camp featured a variety of fun-filled games and recreational activities conducted by CSP Assistant Coordinator Priya Lobo. The activities encouraged active participation, teamwork, cooperation and friendship among the beneficiaries, creating a joyful and lively atmosphere.

CSP Coordinator Dorice Fernandes compered and organised the programme, ensuring its smooth and successful conduct. The October Camp concluded with a fellowship lunch, providing an opportunity for the children and organisers to interact, strengthen their bonds of friendship and foster a spirit of togetherness.
