Saint Agnes PU College Holds Awareness Drive Against Drug Abuse
Saint Agnes PU College organized an impactful awareness programme on drug abuse for its students, aiming to educate them about the harmful effects of substance abuse and inspire them to make responsible and informed life choices.



The session was led by Manasa Hegde, Panel Advocate, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), who delivered an insightful and engaging presentation on the legal, social and psychological consequences of drug addiction. Addressing the students, she emphasized the importance of staying away from harmful influences, making wise decisions, and seeking timely guidance when confronted with challenges.











The programme was organized by ‘Abhaya’ – the Women’s Cell of the college under the guidance of Dr Tressie Menezes, Convener of the Cell. The initiative received the wholehearted support and encouragement of Principal Sr Norine Dsouza and Vice Principal Sr Janet Sequeira, who consistently promote programmes that contribute to the holistic development, well-being, and responsible citizenship of students.









Ancilla, Lecturer in Statistics and a member of the Abhaya Committee, was also present on the occasion. The session concluded with a powerful call for students to become ambassadors of a drug-free society by making positive choices and inspiring others to lead healthy, meaningful, and purpose-driven lives.






The programme began with a warm welcome by Snehal and Sejal, while Krithika and Haifa delivered the vote of thanks. The event was efficiently compered by Srishti and Enael.


The awareness programme was well received by the students and served as a timely reminder of the importance of safeguarding oneself and society from the dangers of drug abuse.
