Paduan Students’ Council 2026 Inaugurated with Enthusiasm
Padua Pre-University College, Nanthur, Mangaluru, inaugurated the Paduan Students’ Council 2026 with great enthusiasm on June 23, at the college auditorium.



The programme was graced by R.J. Nayana Shetty of 92.7 BIG FM, Mangaluru, as the Guest of Honour, and Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves, Headmaster of Saint Lawrence English Medium School, Mangaluru, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Rev. Fr Arun Wilson Lobo, Campus Director and Principal of Padua College of Commerce and Management, Prof. Roshan Santhumayor, Principal of Padua Pre-University College, Lavia Monteiro, Reshma Vinay, College CPL Navaneeth D.K., and ACPL Tanushree.
In his address, Rev. Fr Arun Wilson Lobo encouraged students to choose the right path in life, remain disciplined, and uphold strong values. Quoting Rabindranath Tagore, he reminded students that “What we become is the real gift to God, our Creator.”





Guest of Honour Nayana Shetty motivated students to work diligently towards their goals and dreams. She shared practical tips for success, encouraged maintaining a diary, reducing screen time, and drew inspiration from the achievements of Albert Einstein and Thomas Alva Edison. Her personal anecdotes added a motivational touch to the session.






Chief Guest Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves congratulated the newly elected Student Council members and highlighted the qualities of effective leadership, including confidence, vision, and initiative. Using the analogy of a pencil and an eraser, he conveyed valuable lessons on leadership and personal growth. He also appreciated Padua Educational Institution for its commitment to academic excellence.

Prof. Roshan Santhumayor welcomed the dignitaries and formally inaugurated the Students’ Council. Rev. Fr Peter Gonsalves and Nayana Shetty honoured the newly elected office bearers by presenting them with badges and sashes. Prof. Roshan Santhumayor administered the oath of office to the council members, while College CPL Navaneeth D.K. addressed the gathering.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Adithi of First PUC (PCMB), while Dhanashree of Second PUC (CSBA) compered the event. Lavia Monteiro and Reshma Vinay, Lecturers in Economics, coordinated the programme. The formal function was followed by vibrant cultural performances, including energetic dance presentations and a comic skit, showcasing the talents and creativity of the students.
