Saint Agnes PU College Organizes Health and Personal Grooming Session

Saint Agnes PU College organized an enlightening and inspiring session on Health, Hygiene and Personal Grooming for the II PUC students on 25 June 2026 in the college auditorium. The programme aimed at creating awareness among students about the importance of maintaining good health, personal hygiene, and grooming as essential aspects of a disciplined and successful life.

The programme commenced with a soulful prayer song rendered by Princita and her group, invoking God’s blessings on the gathering. Ritika extended a warm welcome to the resource person and introduced Dr Ritesh Dcunha, Associate Professor, Department of Anaesthesiology, Father Muller Medical College. Principal Sr Norine Dsouza felicitated the chief guest by presenting him with a potted plant as a token of appreciation.

Addressing the students, Dr Ritesh Dcunha emphasized that health, hygiene, and personal grooming are not merely habits but non-negotiable essentials for leading a confident and fulfilling life. He highlighted the importance of mastering the ‘Eight Non-Negotiables’, explaining that these fundamental practices empower individuals to take ownership of their physical well-being. Maintaining good hygiene, he noted, enables students to walk into every classroom, interview, or examination hall with confidence and self-assurance.

Through engaging examples, practical tips, and real-life experiences, Dr Dcunha encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyles, practise personal cleanliness, and maintain proper grooming standards. He stressed that discipline, consistency, and commitment to these habits contribute significantly to one’s overall health, personality, and future success.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Ayesha Fatima, who expressed sincere gratitude to the resource person for his insightful and motivating address. Anita, Convenor of the Cleanliness Committee, presented a memento to Dr Ritesh Dcunha in appreciation of his valuable contribution.

Following the programme, badges were distributed to a dedicated team of student volunteers entrusted with monitoring campus cleanliness and promoting a clean, hygienic, and well-maintained environment. The initiative reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering responsible citizenship and nurturing students who value health, hygiene, and environmental cleanliness as integral parts of everyday life.
